Yup, you read that right. The smaller, pocket-perfect version of the popular Standard Tile is finally available in titanium, and yours truly has the pleasure of making them. That’s right—Novel Carry did the designing, I'm doing the machining, and you get to enjoy a ridiculously satisfying piece of fidget wizardry.

Wait… What is this collaboration?
If you’re not familiar with how these things work, let me enlighten you. The great folks at Novel Carry have been cranking out some fantastic Delta Tiles in plastics, micarta, and carbon fiber. A while back, they asked if I wanted in on their Tile project, and naturally, I said, “Yeah, sure, why not?” (Translation: I saw a cool design and instantly wanted to make it out of titanium.)
I ran a good-sized batch of the Gen 1 Titanium Tile (the larger version) and even made a few in Ultem, which disappeared faster than my patience when my endmill decides to snap mid-cut. The guys at Novel Carry were working on some new variations, and I told them I’d be happy to keep cranking out more.
Funny Story...
One caffeine-fueled night, I got bored and started messing around with the CAD model. Next thing you know, I had a version that was half the size—but still full fidgety goodness. It was a 1-of-1 that I carry daily, like a proud dad with a newborn (except, you know, way cooler).
I sent Novel Carry a photo just for kicks, and it turns out—they had already designed the same thing. Because, of course. Great minds, right?
Meanwhile, they were also cooking up the Delta Slide and refining the first-gen Standard Tile to accept a customizable magnet cassette (which, by the way, is a brilliant idea).
So, when the titanium Delta came up, I just so happened to have some leftover material from the first project. They sent over the CAD, I fired up my CAM software, and after some late-night Fusion 360 marathons, broken tools, and enough coffee to make a hummingbird nervous—boom. A legend was born.
